Sauvie Island Bridge in Portland, Oregon
Have you ever been some place where you felt that you were witnessing something special? Something that might not happen again for a long time? This photograph of the Sauvie Island Bridge in Portland, Oregon is a representation of that type of moment for me. Never before had I seen a sunset in Portland, Oregon like this.. I probably will not again either. The clouds were fairly dense, but sat high enough over the West Hills to allow the light from the setting sun to shine through over the hills.
On this evening I trekked out to the Sauvie Island Bridge in North Portland with my partner hoping to possibly see a good sunset. However, when we got there and the sun dipped below the hills, we knew we were witnessing something special. I love that part about landscape photography. Knowing that you are seeing something that no one else has or will again. Every sunset and every scene are different and I am proud to say that I captured this one.
A lot goes in to planning sunset and sunrise shoots. If you would like to learn more about how I plan my shoots to get images like this one, visit my classes and lessons page
I would be honored if you chose to purchase a piece of my Portland, Oregon Photography for your home or office.
